Can you only donate cars and trucks?

No, since the tax deduction is based on the sale price. For example, if the car is auctioned for less than $500, you can deduct the fair market value up to $500. On the other hand, if it sells for more than $500, you can deduct the full selling price if you itemize. However, the pickup receipt is needed.
