Be a Part of the Solution

If your car has parked itself somewhere near the Boardwalk and it’s doing a better job collecting salty air than getting you anywhere, it’s time for a change. Donate it to Goodwill Car Donations and transform that vehicle into a lifeline for people on the Jersey Shore – individuals who are learning new skills, overcoming obstacles like limited education or past challenges, and striving to find stable, meaningful work.

We’re talking real, local impact – not imagined change on the Strip, but support that you could actually notice if you happened to grab a slice down on the A.C. Boardwalk or strolled past Steel Pier at sunset.

How Car Donations Work in America’s Playground

Donating your car here is as easy as scoring a soft-serve cone during the summer weekend rush – with way less hassle.

  1. Reach out. Through our online form or a quick call at 866-233-8586.
  2. Pick your time. We’ll schedule free towing when it fits your rhythm – no matter if it’s after a stroll along Tennessee Avenue’s Orange Loop or before the next Freedom Festival pops up.
  3. Hand it off. You don’t need to be home. Our title team will handle the paperwork, and you’ll walk (or get mailed) the IRS donation receipt.

No more MVC runs, no extra errands – just a quick, local-friendly process.

Why Donating a Car Matters in Atlantic City

Atlantic City is more than the casinos and Boardwalk; it’s a community where people are working hard to build stability in a city shaped by seasonal jobs and shifting opportunities. Your donation helps create real chances for neighbors to succeed.

Here’s why your donation makes a difference:

  • Free pickup across Atlantic City and nearby towns – We’ll come to Venice Park, Bungalow Park, Lower Chelsea, or even a tight casino garage. Narrow streets, bayside homes, and beach-town driveways – we’ve handled them all.
  • Tax savings you can count on – After your vehicle sells, you’ll receive the proper IRS paperwork to maximize your deduction.
  • Community programs grow stronger – Your gift powers Goodwill’s mission of job training, career placement, and support for fellow residents facing barriers to employment.
  • Clear space at home – That idle vehicle in your driveway or garage can be transformed into new opportunities for someone nearby.
  • Eco-friendly reuse – Even non-running vehicles are recycled or auctioned to reduce waste and stretch their value further.

You’ll feel good knowing your old ride is fueling progress for people across Atlantic City – helping turn unused cars into second chances.

Where in Atlantic City We Serve (and What Turns Up)

We cover neighborhoods across the city, and each has its unique character and donation stories:

  • Downtown & Boardwalk Area: The heart of Atlantic City is a mix of t-shirt shops, arcades, and the smell of frying boardwalk fries drifting over the ocean breeze. Many donations here are older sedans and convertibles that once rolled proudly down Atlantic Avenue on summer nights.
  • The Orange Loop (Tennessee Avenue district): This lively pocket bursts with colorful murals, indie bars, and the weekend buzz spilling out from live shows near the Loop Amphitheater. We often tow compact cars and scooters from locals who’ve traded commuting for a more walkable, artsy lifestyle.
  • Ducktown: Historic rowhouses share the street with family-run Italian bakeries where locals still grab fresh cannoli on Sundays. It’s common to see donations of trusty minivans or well-used sedans making way for newer family rides.
  • Chelsea Heights: Known for its quiet streets, sweeping bay views, and kids playing ball at Chelsea Heights School, this neighborhood feels worlds away from the casino strip. We occasionally haul away weathered SUVs or fishing boats that have outlived their best seasons.
  • Marina District & Connector Highway (the “Tunnel” to Brigantine): With its sleek high-rises, casino resorts, and the hum of nightlife spilling toward the tunnel, this area blends luxury with easy bay access. Donors here sometimes part with classic cars that haven’t been driven since their last valet drop-off years ago.
  • Ventnor City: Just over the city line, Ventnor offers a laid-back beach-town rhythm, morning bagel runs, and families riding cruisers along the boardwalk. We’ve picked up everything from jet skis to small trucks that no longer fit the pace of coastal living.

Not listed above? That’s no hurdle – we’ll come to you anywhere in Atlantic City. Our trucks roll through every block, including the bay front, the boardwalk, and out into the neighboring shore towns.

Top Questions Atlantic City Car Donors Ask Us

1. How does vehicle pickup work in Atlantic City?

We work with local tow providers who know their way around the Boardwalk, Atlantic Avenue traffic, and even the tight side streets near Ducktown and Chelsea Heights. Once you schedule, we’ll:

  • Arrange free pickup within 24 to 48 hours (often the same day)
  • Meet you wherever the vehicle sits – your driveway, workplace, or even a casino garage
  • Provide your donation receipt at pickup or by email shortly after

2. What vehicles can I donate, and do they need to run?

We accept just about anything – cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, boats, trailers, even RVs. It doesn’t matter if the engine’s purring or if it’s been sitting longer than the closed Steel Pier rides in January – if it still runs and you can sign it over, we can usually take it.

3. How much is the tax deduction, and what forms do I need?

Your deduction depends on your vehicle’s final sale price, based on IRS rules:

  • You’ll receive a receipt after pickup.
  • Once the vehicle is sold, we’ll send you a written statement with the sale amount.
  • If it sells for less than $500, you can deduct the fair market value (up to $500).
  • If it sells for more than $500, your deduction is equal to the exact sale price.
  • For deductions over $500, you’ll need IRS Form 8283 with your tax filing.

4. How does donating help people in Atlantic City specifically?

Your donation directly supports Goodwill’s job training and employment programs in Atlantic County. This includes:

  • Workforce development for residents looking to re-enter the hospitality, retail, and other growing industries.
  • Job placement programs for individuals facing barriers to employment.
  • Community-based support for youth and adults preparing for stable, long-term careers.
  • Training and resources that help locals build financial stability in a city with high seasonal unemployment.

5. How long does the process take?

The entire donation process, from pickup to paperwork, usually takes just a few weeks:

  • Pickup: typically within 1–2 days of scheduling.
  • Sale and processing: usually completed in 2–4 weeks.
  • Tax documents: sent promptly once the sale is finalized.

You’ll get updates every step of the way, so you’re never left wondering.

6. What if I have vehicle title issues?

Our in-house title team resolves most problems, so you won’t need to visit the MVC. On the rare occasion you do, the closest office with title services is the MVC Road Test/Inspection Center located at 1477 19th Street, Hamilton Industrial Park, Mays Landing, NJ 08330. We’ll walk you through any necessary steps – online, by mail, or in person – so the process stays simple and stress-free.
