Is It Better To Buy A New Car Or Lease One
May 4, 2011The decision to buy or lease cars can be a tricky one for some people. Buying a new car and then replacing it in a few years could mean that you lose a lot of money and this is what you would have to do if you always like to be driving around in something new. However when it comes to leasing a new car, there are a number of disadvantages as well as advantages which mean that for many people buying is always the better option.
Why It’s a Good Idea to Lease New Cars
- When you lease a car it is possible to get a new car every time your lease expires. You need to remember that when it comes to leasing, the more often you get a new lease, the higher the monthly payments are going to be.
- The biggest advantage of leasing means that people can actually get to drive a car that they would never be able to afford to buy. Leasing allows people to drive the cars of their dreams which is what people love.
- Once your lease is up you can just hand back the car and you don’t have to try to find a buyer for it.
Why It’s a Good Idea to Buy a New Car
- You get the pride of ownership; no matter how long you lease a car it is never going to be yours.
- Buying is always going to work out cheaper than leasing provided that you are going to keep the car for a few years.
- If you want to buy a new car then you will have something which you can trade in and this can take quite a chunk off the price of the car.
- There is normally a mileage limit with a leased car and the company will charge you more if you go over your allowance. There is no such worry when you buy a new car because how many miles you put on the clock will be up to you.
After acquiring that great Nissan family car you’ve had your eye on for a long time, the next step will be to consider genuine Nissan parts. Also, it would be a great idea to think about Nissan Micra parts. These can be things such as Nissan qashqai accessories.

Leasing Vehicles – Get Your Business Off To A Good Start
March 25, 2011The country is still suffering economically making it extremely difficult to start a business at this moment in time. Leasing your company vehicles is a sensible method to save on acquiring a fleet. The money you would be paying on buying a vehicle outright can be saved for more troubled times. There is an abundance of van contract hire deals to choose from with most offering 100% tax benefits. Road tax is still required to be paid when leasing. Looking after your vehicle is far less hassle with leasing, and maintenance should be covered in your monthly payments. To seal the deal, leasing companies will sometimes offer free car accessories.
Despite it’s popularity, uncertainty still surrounds vehicle leasing. Many people still are unclear what leasing actually is. In terms of leasing vehicles, it involves dealing through a finance group who own the model you’re after. There are a number of top manufacturers to choose from, with a number of deals on Fiat van leasing and Vauxhall van leasingdeals. A contract will stipulate a set of terms of conditions which states how much and how often payments should be paid to the finance business. Once the lease has run its course, the patron can take up the option to buy the vehicle outright. This is the aspect of leasing vehicles which appeals the most. When the lease expires after a year or two, you may decide that the vehicle is not for you or perhaps your business has hit a temporary glitch, you can simply trade it in for another.
Leasing is becoming an increasingly popular way to finance a vehicle. If you are starting a new business and need some company vehicles, leasing can be an ideal solution. Businesses are at their most vulnerable in their early stages of growth. Instead of shelling out a fortune for a new vehicle, leasing involves parting with manageable amounts each month for the duration of the contract.
Kars4Kids Car Donation Charity
February 19, 2011You may have heard the catchy ‘jingle’ that advertises “Kars4Kids,” a car donation charity that you would think uses its money to help disabled or otherwise needy children. In fact, the front page of the Kars4Kids website says “Donate A Car and Give Hope To A Child.”
Well, appearances can be misleading…
Kars4Kids (a.k.a. “Joy for Our Youth,” based in Lakewood, NJ) funnels much of its donation proceeds to an organization called “Oorah,” a Jewish religious organization whose stated mission is to heighten Jewish childrens’ awareness of their heritage. According to an online report, in 2007 this amount came to $16.2 million…
So, this is a great charity if that’s what you want to support. But they also help disadvantaged Jewish children with proceeds from donations, and it’s hard to not support any charity that helps kids – even if you aren’t Jewish.
…But in the not-so-distant past, Kars4Kids has been in trouble with the Attorney General’s of Pennsylvania and Oregon, and more recently – New York City…
From the American Institute of Philanthropy website:
“Pennsylvania’s Attorney General accused JOY of publishing “advertisements that did not limit benefits to any particular group of children when, in fact, substantially all donations were remitted to Oorah, whose programs benefit a particular group of children.” In Pennsylvania, JOY was fined $45,000 in restitution to be distributed to various children’s charities in the state plus $20,000 in penalties and investigative costs. JOY was also required to add detailed disclosures to all Pennsylvania solicitations revealing the religious nature of its programs.
In Oregon, the charity was required to pay $65,000 and “change its misleading solicitation practices.” The Oregon Department of Justice took issue with the charity’s vacation voucher incentive, saying JOY “failed to disclose that its ‘free vacation’ offer was designed to recruit people to attend timeshare presentations.” Also at issue was a failure “to disclose that the organization did not benefit needy children generally, but instead directed its efforts to a narrow religious purpose.” In addition to paying the fine, JOY is now required “to clearly and conspicuously disclose that any offers of vacation vouchers are not applicable in Oregon” and to include disclosure of its religious purpose in solicitations in that state.” —– end of quote
Now keep in mind – as is the case with ALL car donation charities mentioned and featured on this website – this organization may have changed since this article was written; Kars4Kids (“Joy For Our Youth”) may distribute donations differently now. This is why it’s important for you to check out any charity you are considering yourself. Fortunately, easy links for all 50 states are on GoodwillCarDonation.org for your convenience.
Checking with one or more of the ‘charity watchdog organizations’ listed on your state’s page from the drop-down menu at GoodwillCarDonation.org is the best way to check out a charity the right way.
Purple Heart Car Donations
February 19, 2011The “Military Order of the Purple Heart Foundation Service, Inc.” is the official company name for the more recognized “Purple Heart Car Donations,” located in Annandale, VA. This has become a popular car donation charity for several reasons, but you may want to do some background checking of your own on them…
As a military veteran myself, anything to help wounded veterans and their families appeals to me a great deal. However, this particular charity has come under fire (no pun intended) for misuse of funds, as well as using over 60% of donation money for overhead.
…Keep in mind, however, that this is according to a 2007-2008 report by the American Institute of Philanthropy. So even if this was true back then, now they may be operating ‘above board.’
Nevertheless, in 2010 Purple Heart Car Donations “has not responded to Alliance requests for information or has declined to be evaluated in relation to the Alliance’s Standards for Charity Accountability. While participation in the Alliance’s charity review efforts is voluntary, the Alliance believes that failure to participate may demonstrate a lack of commitment to transparency.”
But remember that even if they were operating in a questionable manner at some point, now they may be a great car donation charity. These types of organizations tend to change with each new company president. So do your own checking of how to properly research a vehicle donation charity at GoodwillCarDonation.org.
Car Donations in California
September 19, 2010California car donations are a great way to give back in the “Golden State.” But don’t donate your used car or truck to just any charity. Check out the charity you are considering very carefully first. Why? Because, sadly, many charities in California give only a small percentage to the needy.
But even if the ‘parent’ charity is good, the solicitation service for a charity may be keeping most or all of your donation proceeds; the charity may not get squat. So you have to do a little research on any charitable organization before parting with your old vehicle.
Fortunately, we here at GoodwillCarDonation.org have done most of the legwork for you. You simply need to click on your state (in this case, California) from the drop-down menu at the top of the website. There will be information specific to the Golden State on the page for California.
On that page you will find links to the California State Attorney General’s Office, as well as the CA DMV (California Division of Motor Vehicles) and other helpful links. But other sites you should visit are the “charity watchdog” websites. These organizations keep track of most charities and grade them on their efficiency (or lack thereof). Links to these car donation charity watchdog organizations can be found under “Car Donation Scams.”
Giving your old car or truck (or NEW vehicle – if you are really generous) to a California car donation charity can be a rewarding experience. Especially if you’ve done a quick background check of the charity and determined that it is indeed a bona fide charity that cares about people.
Also remember that you may qualify for a car donation tax deduction. Depending on the condition of your donated vehicle, this amount could be more than you could get for the car at a salvage yard!
